Mother’s Day at the Elliott Street, Balmain precinct

Image

The collection of stores in the Elliott Street precinct are the perfect place to start your Mother’s Day shopping. You’re unlikely to need to head further afield once you’re here. No Chintz shares this precinct with an eclectic collection of retailers, all of them with something special for Mum on Sunday:

Inside Traders, 499 Darling St, our immediate neighbour has a great and slightly eccentric collection of furniture, homewares and jewellery to choose from. There’s always something new in store, it’s a great place to pop in for something special for Mum.

quintessential duckggBLUE, 497 Darling St. We love these guys for their eclectic collection of antique and industrial objects. Their collection of reconditioned, original and antique pieces are carefully selected and edited. We love that they share our passion for re-using and recycling beautiful objects.

Shoes in the Attic, 495 Darling St, have a fantastic selection of boots for winter in store now and who doesn’t need a new pair of boots each season? We love their handbags and hats and other accessories…

Revive Antiques, 493b Darling St. Specialising in restoration, remodelling and repair of antique jewellery, this is the place to go for that really special piece. You can also pick up a new piece, made by hand, on site… I’m particularly looking forward to opening my Mother’s Day package on Sunday… 😉

DuckeggBLUE, 489 Darling St. Stocking the most beautiful and covetable collection of fashion labels, this store is an established destination for those in the know when it comes to contemporary local and international fashion. Shop for Mum here for JBrand denim, Jac + Jack, Ginger & Smart, Repetto shoes and bags and lots more…

Leona Edmiston Vintage, 483 Darling St. Selling designs from her previous collections, this is the place to snap up a fabulous frock or two for Mum. The store’s current promotion comes just in time for Mother’s Day: Buy one frock and get $50 off, buy two frocks and get $100 off, buy three frocks and get $200 off! Plus 40% off shoes and handbags. Follow them on Instagram to win a new bag.

Breathing Colours, 446 Darling St. One side of this shop is a gallery and exhibition space showcasing a range of Australian artists and designers, specialising in emerging talent. The other side of the shop is full of fabulous jewellery, glass, ceramics and other pieces from local designers. Plenty here for Mum this weekend!

Malcolm Antiques, 450 Darling St. This Balmain institution is the perfect place to find a fabulous piece of antique furniture or jewellery.

So, there you have it… head to the corner of Elliott Street and Darling Street for your one stop shop for Mother’s Day. There’s plenty of parking and no parking meters in this little precinct nestled between the main Balmain and Rozelle villages.

Our thanks to all the stores we share the precinct with and to Quintessential DuckeggBlue for the images of their store.

Happy Mother’s Day shopping!
