We recently ran a competition to name our new ikat design. Congratulations to Ruby Brown for her winning entry: Lomandra. We love it! Lomandra is an Australian native grass and the long, flat, fibrous leaves were used by indigenous Australians to weave baskets, mats and eel traps as well as for binding wounds.
Runner up was Laura Beth Bug with “Naadi” which is Hindi for pulse or heartbeat, a beautiful suggestion.
Thanks to Kristine from the painted hive who came up with the colour names for this range. They’re perfect!
We loved all the suggestions and we hope to run more competitions like this in the near future. In the meantime, enjoy our beautiful new ikats:
Lomandra in colour Cornflower, 100% cotton, $75 p/m.
Lomandra in colour Jade, 100% cotton, $75 p/m.
Lomandra in colour Tangerine, 100% cotton, $75 p/m.
We’ve also added a new colour to one of our favourite ikat ranges…

More on ikat fabrics later in the week…
