No Chintz Crafter and Visual Merchandiser, Lisa Llavero, designer the new quilt kit. Here, Lisa gives us the stitch-by-stitch story behind the unique design, fabrics, inspiration, skill level required and of course, the exceptional final product…

The Blockprint Brights Colour Scheme…

Lisa says the kits feature 10 fabrics in stripes, ‘60s style block colours and retro flora. “The cheerful scheme uses bright and bold colours from turquoise to aqua, bright orange and chartreuse with highlights of acid yellow,” she explains.

What’s Included In The Kit?

“The kit comes with step-by-step instructions, fabric panels for the top of the quilt, including cotton prints, linens, checks, gingham, stripes, ticking and multi-stripes, and a selection of limited edition designer collections – this is a one-off unique piece!” says Lisa.

The Inspiration? Lisa says it was original screen printing designs Prints Charming’s Cath Derksema that was the inspiration behind the Blockprint Brights Quit Kit. “The Prints Charming fabric in Blockprint Brights is called Geo Jungle,” explains Lisa. “When I visited Cath in her studio, there was a small roll of it sitting in the corner. Cath mentioned that it was the last few metres left in existence and I just had to have it! I knew that Geo Jungle would fit in perfectly with a collection of fabrics from the No Chintz range. Being a geometric design, it compliments checks, stripes and florals beautifully. And, being a small scale print, it works well in a strip quilt design. I love its retro feel and modern colour palette.”
